DISCOVERIE KICK OFF MEETING
DISCOvERIE project consortium lauched its Kick-off meeting on 6th-7th of February 2020 in Barcelona. The project grant (Grant Agreement nº: 848228) is funded under H2020 Research Programme of the European Commission and coordinated by Vall d’Hebron Institute of Research (VHIR). The project is meant to study the existing link between anxiety and depression and irritable bowel syndrome – a brain-gut connection while identifying biomarkers for more accurate and earlier diagnosis, prognosis and monitoring of patients’ condition. The 5-year project (2020-2025) is a pioneer in Europe in the study of IBS and its comorbidities from an innovative and disruptive approach, hence the findings of this project will directly impact patients’ quality of life. The DISCOvERIE consortium represents a renowned group of 12 clinical and 7 SME partners, collaborating with clinical and research experts and opinion leaders in the field of neuro-gastroenterology, psychiatric disorders and somatic pain disorders.
